Series K road street light on the expressway in Ukraine

This LED street lighting project is located on the expressway in Ukraine. It was done in 2018. More than 1000 sets of ZGSM-LD60KM and ZGSM-LD120KM were used in the project. Our series K cobra head LED street light supports both horizontal and vertical installations, and pole diameter has 60mm and 50mm for optional, which can meet different needs of customers. The tool-free open design makes series K road street light easy to install and maintain. The appearance of the cobra head makes it very popular in Europe. Our clients highly praised the lighting performance of this luminaire in this project.

There is no evidence that LED streetlights impact human sleep cycles any differently than HPS streetlights that have been used for the past 30 years. When considering the effects of light at night, indoor lighting is more of a concern. The quantity of light emitted by roadway lights is many times lower than that emitted by typical indoor lighting, TVs, tablets, or PC screens. The U.S. Department of Energy has published a number of documents to address the statements made by the American Medical Association (AMA) with regard to the stated health issues.

The term BUG relates to the following: Backlight, Uplight, and Glare ratings, which are used to evaluate the luminaire’s optical performance related to light trespass, sky glow, and high angle brightness control.
The rating for the zone is assigned a numeric value between zero and five. The lower the number, for example, U0, the better the luminaire performs in these criteria. In this example, a value of zero for uplight means that zero light is emitted into the atmosphere.

LED street lighting is available in all color temperatures, from warm white light to neutral white light and cool white light. Depending on the previous illumination (with conventional lighting) people might be used to a certain color temperature and thus notice a difference when LED lighting of another color temperature is installed. You can keep the existing atmosphere by choosing a similar CCT. The atmosphere can be further improved by a proper lighting design.

SPD in LED lighting area usually means Surge Proection Device. It’s a device or appliance that protects electrical equipment against voltage spikes in alternating current (AC) circuits. A voltage spike is a brief transient occurrence that can reach over 1,000 volts and lasts 1 to 30 microseconds. Lightning can generate a spike in voltage of over 100,000 volts, which can burn through wiring insulation and cause fires, but even small spikes can harm a wide range of electrical items, including computers, battery chargers, modems, and televisions. The surge device will typically activate at a predetermined voltage, usually 3 to 4 times the mains voltage, and divert the current to earth. The surge may be absorbed by some gadgets and released as heat.
ZGSM K series and Rifle series LED road street lights are equipped with SPD by default, including 6KV built-in SPD in Inventronics drivers and extra separate 10KV SPD(20KV SPD optional).
