The name "Zhaga" itself has no specific meaning, and now Zhaga socket and NEMA socket are basically the same name. The main goal of Zhaga is to standardize the mechanical and electrical interfaces of LED luminaires, drivers, LED modules and related components. This standardization by Zhaga enables manufacturers to design and produce LED components compatible with components from other suppliers, thereby guaranteeing flexibility, innovation and cost-effectiveness in the lighting industry. Its work includes developing specifications for how various components such as LED modules, drivers, optics and connectors should be physically and electrically interconnected. The relevant standards are Book 1: Mechanical Interface (mechanical interface), Book 2: LED Light Engines (LED light engine), Book 5: LED Drivers (LED driver), Book 18: receptacle (socket). These specifications ensure seamless assembly and replacement of various components from different manufacturers, reducing complexity and facilitating a more competitive marketplace.

The organization's goal is to ensure that LED lighting products from different manufacturers are compatible with each other, including the interchangeability requirements of LED drivers, LED modules, lamp holders, lenses and other components, so as to simplify the design and manufacture of lighting products.

D4i and Zhaga have a certain degree of cooperation, mainly because they are standards in the lighting industry and related to intelligent control. Zhaga- D4i is a certification project of cooperation between DALI Alliance and Zhaga Alliance. Products certified by Zhaga-D4i can bear the double marks of Zhaga and D4i, indicating that they meet the relevant standards of D4i and Zhaga's plug-and-play feature.
