The theoretical life of LED lamps can be up to 50,000 to 100,000 hours, which is equivalent to an estimated annual life of 20-25 years. Compared with HPS, which has a life of only 20,000 hours, it is still very advantageous. But this does not mean that LED does not require any maintenance during its service life. When the lamp fails due to LED driver, we need to replace the power supply in time and clean the light-emitting surface of the LED lamp regularly if possible. It is recommended to be 3-5 years.

What are the requirements for road lighting?

The amount of light which is needed on the road to illuminate objects (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and obstacles) depends on the traffic volume or density, traffic speed, road composition, number of intersections, whether there are pedestrians and roadside parking, etc.

For different road compositions, we need to provide appropriate lighting levels for these areas:

Motorway M lighting classes: M1 to M6; Conflict area (intersection, confluence) C lighting classes: C0 to C5; Pedestrian P lighting classes: P1 to P7. In addition, for pedestrian areas, we can also choose HS, SC or EV level according to the recommendations in national standards.
